Freedom is not free. Thank God for our military personnel who are willing to defend freedom and liberty. And thank God to those who have given their all so that we can be free today.
Julia Ward Howe so eloquently put it in our national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, “As He died to make men holy let us live to make men free!” Of course she was referring to the sacrifice of Christ Jesus and for our responsibility as Christians to share that testimony with others; it is also an important duty as citizens of our Republic to preserve and renew freedom in every generation.
